Our move to Mountain View

Two weeks ago, we moved from our apartment in south San Jose to a townhome apartment in Mountain View. Though the constant rain made our move-out pretty crazy, we are so happy with our new home and more especially, with our new location.

I (Keri) am now only 3 miles from work which is great when Matt needs the car and I am able to run home. We are also much closer to the three places that Matt needs to go for work most often - HP offices in Cupertino, San Francisco and the airport. HP is also currently in the process of moving their corporate headquarters to Mountain View which will be even closer for him.

We cannot speak enough kind words to those who came and helped make our move so enjoyable. My mom and brother, Bo, came down from Fairfield to help. Then we had eight guys from our San Jose ward show up in the morning - and the rain - to help us load our moving truck. We had eight more guys from our new Mountain View ward show up in the afternoon to unload our moving truck into our new place. Our friend, neighbor and also San Jose ward member, Tom Abbott, also joined us for both moves which was fabulous! Luckily by the time we reached Mountain View, the rain had stopped and the sun even came out to welcome us in.

We are so grateful to all who showed up - and to their families who allowed them to do so. Despite the rain and the day being General Conference Sunday - everyone was in great spirits and seemed happy to be serving.

Matt is excited about all of the fellow techies and engineers in our new ward - and the basketball nights during the week. And I'm happy to know at least one person in our new ward already. But I must say I still really miss our San Jose ward, even though we were only with them for eight months. I'm sure that will change quickly, but I find myself wondering how my Primary kids are singing and how the youth are holding up.

How blessed we are to get to meet such great people everywhere we go!
