Easter with the Adams

This Easter Sunday we spent at our new ward for the first time where we heard wonderful talks about the sacrifice of our Savior.

After church we drove up to Fairfield to have dinner with my parents and brothers, Grandma Goss, Aunt Lori and her kids and Aunt Liana, Peter and Jonathan who were in town from Utah.

We had a lovely dinner complete with silly Adams-Goss humor usually centered around teasing Grandma, Bo, Josh or David all while trying to fend off the animals from our food. Grandma provided cute chocolate bunnies with our names on them that we used as name cards for each place setting.

I made homemade crescent rolls (recipe from Kathy) which were a huge hit. I have finally proceeded over my bump of bread making and feel confident in my ability to volunteer to make such things without worrying they will turn into dense hockey pucks.

Then Alma and Danielle went outside and hid plastic Easter eggs for all of us. We enjoyed acting like children -  running around and seeing who could find the most. Josh, of course, stealthily took the lead as he quietly cleaned out one side of the yard while we all began in the main area. I swear that boy - he always used to find the best hiding spots during hide-and-go-seek too and it would take us hours to find him as he patiently waited. If I ever found a good spot, I was bored after ten minutes and I'd start making noises to give hints. But I am digressing.

After the Easter Egg hunt we played a rowdy game of Goss Family Jeopardy which I had put together. The game ended in a heated - but not really- argument by Mom, Liana, Lori and Grandma about the subjects my Granpa truly taught at K-State. Bo was also a hit in the game as he would raise his hand every time - no matter if he knew the answer of not. His team had to school him a little bit on hanging back but overall I had a blast watching them try to figure out who each question was about.

My Dad wasn't feeling well after his latest infection he is working through so unfortunately we didn't to see him in action, but it sounds as if his health is slowly improving. Overall it was lovely to be able to see our peeps again which we are so lucky to be able to do more often now.

While Matt was away on business in North Carolina, I ate all the chocolate out of our Easter eggs. I thought he wouldn't mind, but I was wrong. Oops :) He wasn't too happy about it upon his return. He must have said to me four different times "I can't believe you ate all of our Easter candy. That is so messed up. I really wanted those mini Snickers." So I went out and bought a bunch of treats to make it for it, including both kinds of Zingers and a king-size Snickers and Peanut Butter Snickers. Let's be honest though, since Matt forgets about his treats, I'm probably going to end up eating those too.
